It’s sinister, secretive and something none of us can escape.
Worst of all, it’s an obstacle that you carry everywhere you go.
It’s always talking, always chirping, always trying to hold you back.
Ready to hear what it is?
It’s you.
It’s the story you’re telling yourself.
It’s the lies you hear in your head that you act upon as if they’re reality.
And, please know –
I’m writing this as much for me as I am for you! 🙂
I struggle daily with depression and negative self-talk.
Without turning this email into an episode of Oprah or Dr. Phil, I just want to be real with you.
I’m not immune to or above it, either.
So that’s why, when I saw this quote today, I knew I needed to share it with you:

No matter how work (or life) punches you and me in the face today, we get to decide how we react.
We get to decide what action we take in response to what happens to us.
Remember this: Action destroys fear.
I don’t know what state of mind you’re in as you read this, but I want you to know two things:
First, you’re not alone. I’m in the trenches too, and I know countless others who are as well.
Second, you (and you alone) get to decide to meaning and impact you assign to what happens to you in work and life.
Make it a great day!
